I bought my 51 inch plasma from Best Buy. I thought I was getting such a great deal. I paid 578 for it and was so happy. I knew that it was alot of money for me, but figured I never buy anything for myself..so why not? Approx 2 weeks ago, I had left the tv on in my room. I have 2 small children and so when I am not in my room, my door remains locked. I came back in my room approx 2 hours later and noticed black lines from the right side over. I had first thought it was the digital cable signal. I changed the channel and the lines remained. Shortly after, the screen went black and all I had was sound. I immediatey called Samsung and they gave me a transaction # 4113697301. They told me that a technician would contact me on Monday. The tech never called, so I called him. He barely spoke any english and was hard to understand. He said he would be at my address between the hours of 3-5 on Thursday. I took vacation time from my work so that I could be home. When he arrived, he went straight to the television. He took several pictures with a iphone. He moved my curtains, which he knocked loose from my wall. I asked what he believed caused the crack. He said he thought it looked like physical damage, but Samsung would evaluate the pictures and would make the decision. I explained to him what happened and told him that I know 100% that the tv was not damaged in any way, shape, or form. I asked if Samsung agreed with him, what would I do with the tv..I asked, "is my tv garbage?" He laughed and said "Yes". Not only has Samsung not been helpful, but they send techs to your home that destroy your room and laugh in your face. I called Samsung shortly after and complained. They did not seem to care. I called everyday to see if the pictures had been sent. I kept getting--oh nothing yet--call tomorrow--we should know something by Tuesday at the latest. I called just about an hour ago. I was told that they ruled that it was physical damage. The man I spoke with told me to email pictures myself and the panel would review them. I asked--did the tech not submit any? He said--no--there is no pictures attached to your file. They just took the notes of the tech as the gossip truth. They send techs out just to say they reviewed the crack--only to void your warranty. I have emailed pictures myself. The transaction # for the pictures is
5102883187. I will be contacting them again tomorrow to make sure they received them. I ask--if this was a damage of my own doing---would I even care to keep calling??? If anyone starts a class action lawsuit, count me in christaldawn25@hotmail.com.
