I, too, have a problem with a 50" Samsung Plasma
I happy to see that I'm not the only one who now regrets my purchase of this TV! Happy only to the point where misery loves company.
My Plasma has been in service LESS than two months and I have purple and green vertical lines going across the screen from left to right. Samsung has sent out a tech and he was unable to repair it with the boards that Samsung had sent to my home. Now, I'm taking ANOTHER day off for the UPS person to deliver the new panel! I've contacted ECR and they are virtually useless. Samsung doesn't deserve to be in business if this is their idea on how "Executive Customer Svc" should work! I'm totally disgusted that I even have to have a brand new, state-of-the-art, expensive tv repaired in less than two months!! My last TV is still working after TWENTY-FIVE years of uninterrupted service.
Isn't there a lemon law for TVs? I do not trust this TV ... I'm disgusted that it is still not working right. I should not have to even be waiting for anyone to repair it - this TV should be automatically replaced without question! I can see it being repaired if I'd had been using it for a couple of years ... but a couple of months!!! More like a FEW weeks!!
Any suggestions on how I can get this stupid thing replaced?? To add insult to injury ... the company where I purchased the unit is out of business, so there is no help there. My next filing is going to be to the BBB and FTC then the California Attorney General. Any other suggestions? From everything I read it looks like Samsung isn't responding to a problem ... can you say class action suit? I don't know how to get one started, any ideas??
I look forward to hearing anyone else's experiences. Has anyone had the stripes right before it actually died? It was making a loud buzz last night ... maybe that's a sign of things to come too?? This TV is a real disappointment - I was expecting hours of pleasure watching it ... but instead, I'm having days of frustration dealing with a manufacturer who doesn't seem to care that their product is defective!! I'll NEVER buy another Samsung anything ... and I'm going to share this experience with EVERYONE that I know and ask them to pass it on the same. If we all spread the word, far and wide, maybe, just maybe, Samsung will wake up and address the issue. Instead of hiding behind their warranty excuse.
