I would like to try and help.

Do you have a transaction number, or have you called 800-SAMSUNG to see if they would assist? If you have a transaction number (or can call, explain your situation, and request a transaction number), I will see if our service department would make an exception. I cannot guarantee that they will, but I would like to have the opportunity to try.

The transaction number is something you receive after calling 800-SAMSUNG. Please do not post your personal information here, for your safety. Samsung can repair your unit if it is under warranty.

In all fairness, "millions of buyers" is a bit of an exaggeration. Like any product, there are things that can and do go wrong. We do our best to take care of customers on a case-by-case basis.

I wish I had read your post before I bought my Samsung LCD LNS4095 DX. I had purchased it about 2 years and 3 months ago. At that time it cost me a little over 2000. Like I had mentioned earlier, after 2 years and 3 months, my TV starts turning off and on by itself (power cycling).
I called Samsung, and was treated with the worst customer service. Basically saying after the 1 year mark, that's it. They referred me to a certified Samsung tech. He says the board is a defect, and to replace the board, the whole panel must be replaced. The total cost, $900.
What a waste of money!

I will never buy Samsung again!

You can actually google "samsung lcd tv power cycling" and begin to see that this seems to be a very common problem with Samsung TV's.

I will make sure all my friends and family know what a bad taste this has left.

I understand what you are saying about the warranty. And to be honest I do agree for the most part.

But that is not the issue. The issue at hand is for a company to make a good and reliable product for the consumers. Now I don't know about you, but I don't make enough money to purchase TV's every 2 or 3 years. I pay a good amount of money for a "supposedly" quality name brand. Hoping my TV will last me at least 5 years, anything more would be a bonus.

If the company made a good reliable product, then there wouldn't be such a loss on warranty charges. Plus I am sure Samsung makes more then enough money to eat some warranty charges.

Part of the "whining" to Samsung, is for them to know there are issues with their product. If no one says anything, then they will never know.

I agree with phenomkim. I am currently going through the same "power cycle" issues and possibly a failing board with a LNT4061F, that is just over 2 years old and out of warranty. I don't expect Samsung to fix it but when you pay $1400 for a TV, you expect it to last more than a couple of years.

I had chatted with a Samsung tech online and he was absolutely no help. He told me that it was nothing to worry about and that the issue would resolve itself. When I asked him to tell me why it was having trouble turning on, he just said that it's probably "something with the fan or the parts inside". Geez...what kind of answer is that? Then he just said that if it takes over a minute to turn on then it will have to be serviced...obviously knowing that it was out of warranty. He kept trying to end the chat before giving me answers. That's just crappy customer service.

When I took the TV into the local Samsung Authorized Repair Facility, I asked them if they report these out of warranty issues to Samsung. If they don't know their products are failing, how are they going to make them better? The girls at the repair shop didn't know if these things are reported on out of warranty TVs; if they don't know, I doubt that they are.

It so happened, that while my TV was in the shop, there was a break-in and my repaired TV was stolen. Even though I loved that TV and the awesome picture, until the power cycle problem started, it's probably just as well. The shop's insurance should cover a replacement for me.

Now my dilemma: 1) Do I use the insurance money, probably around $1000, and replace it with a Samsung that has an awesome picture but will almost assuredly break after 2 years? Or 2) Do I go for a lesser picture but a more reliable brand? I'm thinking #2 is the smarter choice. Unless I can find proof that they have improved their design and quality of electronic components in their TVs, I'll research the other major brands and go for the one that's going to last.

Like Phenomkim, I can't afford $500 - $700 a year for TVs, and that's on top of the cable bill!

Until I had this problem and saw all the internet posts about others who have had the same problem, I used to brag about how awesome my Samsung was. Now I will warn everybody of the potential problems with this brand and apologize to those that bought a Samsung on my recommendation. Samsung will also get low marks from me on the annual Consumer Reports brand reliability survey.

K...I've blown off a little steam...now onto researching a replacement TV.

I have experienced the same problem as you....except I had purchased not only a LCD t.v. but a LED monitor as well. I have been through their so called "customer service" phone conversations which also, led to no solution.
My t.v. was around 1200 dollars and I bought it in May of 08. Suddenly this craptacular product won't turn on. I'm about to take it to the closest Samsung location and throw it through their window.
My LED monitor cost me about 400 dollars and it broke 4 months after I bought it....same reason....it wouldn't turn on. "Luckily" the piece of crap monitor was still under warranty so I called a rep from Samsung and told them to fix it. Well, 6 WEEKS LATER and MANY phone calls they just replaced it because THEY couldn't even figure out how to fix it!
I've been in video production for around 12 years. I know how to troubleshoot electronics and usually can find the source of the problem. I know how to take care and treat electronics...and I take very good care of them.
Samsung is just an all around BAD brand. My advice to everyone is not to buy that brand or any affiliate of that brand.
I know I never will again!
