Samsung DVD-VR 357 loading problem

Hello,
I have Samsung DVD-VR 357 and never had any problems until now.I like this unit because it use to open pretty much everything but lately it fails to open regular store purchased DVD movies as well as PC made video recorded on CD-R or CD-RW disc only.I have no problem opening same formats (avi or DivX )recorded on DVD-R,DVD+R or DVD-RW,DVD+RW discs. I always finalize all discs and never had problems opening video from CD-R disc. I did carefully clean laser pick up,reset unit by pushing 2 buttons at the same time for 5 sec ( FF and REW ), unpluged the unit for several hours and still no luck.There is a message error on TV screen that: "Unable to play disc.Please check the disc" I have a hope, maybe somebody knows what is going on?

DVD VR357 Playback Problem

I too have trouble playing back Commercial DVD's. DVD's that I've made on ANOTHER recorder for home movies, do play okay, just not professional DVD's. I used a Maxell DVD cleaner disk (it has a tiny brush on the playback side to wipe off dust from the pickup. It didn't help. Unplugging AC didn't help either. Hardly use this player/recorder and am VERY DISAPPOINTED in its lack of performance! An Insignia DVD recorder outshines this unit (except for the lack of HDMI output). Sorry I purchase it. Normally, Samsung is very high quality (I have TWO Samsung LCD tv's).
