I have DLP 6176 that I've owned for probably less than 2 years now. It was a replacement for a 5678 'that wet the bed' pretty much out of the box. They wouldn't replace the 5678 with the same so, long story short, I opt'd for an upgrade to the 6176 with several hundred $$$ more. Which, now being disabled and stuck at home, and on a fixed income, can definitely not afford. In hindsight I reckon getting another Samsung was a mistake.
Now I have these white dots that are taking over the screen. Several days ago I noticed one, which was annoying enough. Now I have 30 and growing. I don't remember paying for this lovely option.
Well I called 1-800-SAMSUNG and as it turns out, my set I'm told, does not fall under the repair that some seem to be getting. After talking with a supervisor, I'm then told to write a letter to the Corporate Office, IF I want to persue any further.
Now I ask....HOW is it possible for a company to take correct ownership of a problem on only 'some' sets and not others. I was told the last four digits of the required board/chip for my set doesn't end correctly with some Samsung god approved correct 4 digits, so don't expect Samsung to fix for me. I guess my days of even looking at Samsung products are done....This after I've gone out of my way to promote them and their product(s).
Can anyone help me understand why a big Corporation such as Samsung can acknowledge a problem, change XX% of them, and not do the same for the exact same problem in other sets?????
Thanks for listening,
RK
