Samsung forum: White Dots on Samsung DLPs

Would your father be interested in joining a class action law suit against Samsung for this deffect? I have spent at least 12 to 18 hours between researching this problem and talking to Samsung Technical Support and Executive Technical Support and they say there is not anything they can do to help and that this is not a widespread issue contrary to my findings.

This is happening to me too and Samsung is not helping at all.
Please send me information on what I can do.

We also have a set a little ver two years old, amnd the white dot problem is intensifying very quickly. Samsung does not want anything to do with it - they don't even list DLP TVs any more on their website, nor do they address the problem in their troubleshooting guide on their site. I have sent a letter to our attorney general here in CT, and am hoping to get an investigation started or some litigation threatened against Samsung. This problem should have prompted a recall months ago, and Samsung is trying to hide that they are even aware that the problem is huge. Maybe this problem is why they have taken the DLP's off their site. Hopefully the Attorney General's office can help. Anyone out there with this problem should contact by phone or Email their state Attorney general, as they do band together to solve nationwide issues.

I got results after the LA atty Gen'l contacted Samsung. They extended the warranty. Our set was 2.5 years.

Is there a number you called to talk to someone helpful. i have been trying to get a hold of someone that can come and look/fix at my tv that is having the white dot problem and it gets worse every day. a number would be very helpful. thanks for your post.

Thank you so much! The Samsung repair man came today, changed out the DLP Chip and was finished in about 20 minutes. I very much appreciate your help in getting this matter resolved!

I like Samsumg I don't want to say anything bad about the company I just want my TV fixed. I have a HLT5676SX/XAA. I now have thousands of white dots and my TV is unwatchable, it actually gives me a headache watching it. Apparently my model number is one letter/digit off on the end to get a free repair. I can't afford to have it fixed and think I might just have to throw it away. Anything you could do to help would br greatly appreciated.

I received a call from Samsung's executive support team on 7/8 only 2 days after my post. They are extending a one time service to replace the chip and are coming on 7/11. I can't thank you enough and am blown away by the response time. Thank You so much you have definitely strengthened my loyalty to Samsung which was wavering a bit due to this problem.

I have contacted Samsung about my white dot issue and have been told that I will have to repair my set at my expense. Needless to say, I'm disappointed about that given that this is a known issue. I've contacted the local repair center which told me the same thing. Perhaps I can get some assistance here. Could really use some. My ticket # is 4008459328.

I contacted the samsung customer service, the women who helped me 'had never heard of the white dot problem' and the only suggestion she offered was to call a local technician. I dont make much money and my fiance and I just want to watch our tv without everything looking like a star wars movie. If anyone can help it would be really appreciated. I have a Samsung 50 inch model number T5075S.
