Online video downloader

I am currently using Real media player to download and convert videos that I need off the web. However, it seems as if all of the browsers I use (Chrome, Firefox, IE) have disabled the add-on that allows me to download videos directly from the web (YouTube, etc.). I have tried reverting back to older versions of my browsers and it still isn't working. I am constantly asked to do this at work and it seems like I am going to have to figure out a way around this or a different program to use. Do any of you have any suggestions for preferably free or cheap software that will allow me to do this? Any advice is much appreciated. I apologize if this is the incorrect section to post this.

web sites like YouTube do not permit unauthorised copying, (downloading), of their videos.

Such downloader software often come up sharp against counter measures and these CNET For5ums cannot discuss any way to circumvent YouTube's Terms of Service, or that of any other similar video site.

And we can't discuss getting around that.

It seems to me whatever Youtube and others are doing to help folk keep this agreement is working.

you can check vidfetch.com.and other similar. also there are scripts available both standalone and for integration
