Manage updates with the Download App
OS is Win VISTA Home Premium (all windows updates are the latest)
When trying to access some websites I get a HTTP 404 error (see below for exact info). I can access the same web pages with no problem on a WIN XP SP3 and WIN 7 machine. Security settings under Tools>Internet Options>Security tab are the default settings
l> Server Error in '/' Application.

Is that is a web site error. Yes, it can work on other PCs but still points to a fault at the web site and not your PC.
Did you try other browsers to get around this?

Remember that we only know what you tell. It will be possible to create such message if you installed some web browser safety apps that do odd things to the transactions behind the curtains or worse, a proxy app. But for these discussions we take it that it's a stock Windows, with a browser and nothing out of the ordinary that few would install.

I try that and other browsers. Now ask yourself why they have that setting/feature?
