But just in case, let's get one terrible thing out of the way. I don't know why it is but many "ultimate" installs were cracked pirate copies and those may not work well. Most folk know if they have such and that's the end of that install.

There are too many other reasons such as a antivirus suite standing guard to OS damage from trojans or malware.

Def not pirated. if it was, I'd figure out the issues on my own, rather than posting to a forum.

Anyways, I fixed the issue, I just had to DL it from the Microsoft site, and go that way, rather than going through Windows Update.

It's not good enough if we find say a known toxic combo of protection software.
