Windows Vista updates

I have an older computer that has Windows Vista installed that has been turned off for awhile. I hooked it back up and noticed that it needed to be updated. I have been doing the updates for about for days and it will only download and install 5 to 6 updates at a time. I was wondering if there is anyway I can increase the amount of updates it can download and install to speed up the process. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

An old machine that had been off line for 360 days, not quite a year popped up with 170+ updates. Had to let it grind at it for a day.

If Microsoft is going to keep us around, they may want to reconsider this issue. But my bet is this will not get fixed for XP or Vista and 7.

I think your right but I have an older computer with Windows XP that I did some work on and when it came time to do some updates it had over 150 updates that I needed to download and install. It took some time but I is now running like a champ. I just can't figure out why the Windows Vista computer will only download and install 5 to 6 updates at a time. I have now installed over 300 updates but it is taking to much time.

Some updates must be done before others.

So it's an involved process. I think some folk dumped their PC for an iPad so they could turn it on and get their email, etc. without all this fuss.
