Vista Boot Time

All of a sudden my boot time has went from 63secs to 110secs.I have not made any changes and "event viewer" does not report anything that is not normal.I find it strange with all the logs windows creates that there would not be a way to trace this.Any suggestions?

The most common is the USB drive that's plugged in. These can extend boot times. I'll skip the deep why since I can't find details here.

We also have tools to examine the boot time in detail. YOU get to do this. Here's a starter article about it.

Bob thx for the prompt reply.Have no USB connection and nothing looked unusual in "process monitor".Will give it some time as windows is known to correct it's self.

This is to report my boot time is back to normal,so I guess we must have faith that Windows will sometimes correct it's self.I wish I could say the same for "task scheduler" as it has stopped launching the tasks as per the triggers.

Long boot time

Hello Ken
My name is Kaushal and I work for Dell Social media and community Team at Dell.
Please try couple of instruction to check the boot time.
Start>startsearch> msconfig>
You will get the prompt for "system configuration Utility"
you will have a tab at the top called "boot" then at the right side at the bottom you will have time for boot, please check that time, if u see anytime there, Please make it "03" and click on apply also you can click on start up and then click on disable all at the bottom to Avoid Unnecessarily program to load at the start up and it'll make the computer to boot faster.
once click apply and click on ok. You will get the windows Stating that "Do not show this windows "Please put the check mark and restart your computer and your computer will boot faster.
