Service pack 1 wont detect - 32bit vista

I ran a factory recovery for my tx1000 laptop, vista 32bit,



I updated and installed all availible updates.

The service pack 1 updates and installs, but doesnt reconize in system properties or winver.

After installing SP1 i search for new updates but it wont find SP2,

I download SP2 from microsoft - it then says SP1 need to be installed.

So i download SP1 from Microsoft, but says its already running.



Also MSE wont update after installation, i guess because of the SP problem?

But I'd try again with the full download of SP2 32 bit and this article. I can't be sure this will help because folk often run registry cleaners or have other system damage.

As to Sp2 install issues there must a few hundred causes and I don't see enough story to tell which one it is. Here's one of those stories.
