Vista Laptop Programs, Which Can I Delete?

Recently, we got new Internet rendering my ancient computer unable to connect.

I now only use it for microsoft office, photoshop cs5, iTunes, moviemaker and sims2. I want to keep the webcam too.

I need to delete anything that would not be relevant in using any of those programs, these are the biggest space users -

Vista Codec Package
Microsoft Silverlight
Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 SP1
Adobe Shockwave Player 11
HP Quick Launch Buttons 6.40 B2
Activation Assistant for Microsoft Office
HP active support library
Microsoft Office Primary Intertop Assemblies
Microsoft Office Outlook Connector
NetWaiting
Adobe Media Player

Also, I have both of these and I'm wondering if I only need one?
2007 Microsoft Office System
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007

( I have an illegal version and I have no idea if one of these is the old one or what? )

You need to get that sorted. Uninstall both then reinstall the legal version, otherwise it will not be discussed in these forums.

As to the others, why do you need to uninstall anything? If this new system works as expected I would leave well alone and don't uninstall anything. You never quite know what instabilities can result.

I didn't know what "Microsoft Office Primary Intertop Assemblies" was so I looked it up. Apparently it "provides a link between office, and visual studio. This is usually for people who develop software and addins for office products. If this is the first tine you have heard of visual studio then you can uninstall it".

I am still none the wiser, but it will just sit there unused and not affecting anything unless you use both MS Office and Visual Studio.

The Activation Assistant for Microsoft Office appears to be for trial versions of office, ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947542 ), so as long as you remove that pirated version of Office and install a genuine version, not a trial version, then assume that Activation Assistant can go.

Why is this system unable to connect to the internet?
