Computer has virus/been hacked, user accounts disabled
by WWSD - 7/3/11 8:00 AM
I have recently gotten a virus on my computer and I am unable to access my original account. Somehow another password protected admin account has been created and mine has been disabled. Obviously I don't have the password for this account that was created and I am stuck. I have tried starting in safe mode, with and without, command prompt to possibly try to do a system restore or at least access some important files (not sure what else to do). I don't want to reinstall Vista, if at all possible, because I really need some of the files that I have stored on the hard drive. I was wondering if there is a way to gain access to the system by getting around this account which I didn't create. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
From now on I will definitely be backing up my important or actually my whole drive, on a regular basis!
