HOW TO RECOVER MY ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD IN VISTA ?

For months I have forgotten my administrator password. I have tried to create a new administrator account and every time the system asks me for the password.
I need to share my Public folder ( music files ) in my desktop with the other two computers in my home network.Every single time I do something I need a password that I don't have.
I have a HP pc,with Vista Home Premium, model a6037c, 32 bit operating system. Can you please, help me to solve this situation? I have done a lot of research and nothing seem to work. By the way, I'm not a computer expert but I'm very stubborn in getting things done.

For Vista there is only one option generally recommended in these forums;

Note that this is for Vista, and not XP.
