No webcam software but sound recorder is still there.

I'm just amazed that Windows doesn't come with webcam software, have to rely on third party software. Why is that, opinions anyone?

Consider government intervention in the product.

Every time MSFT adds a feature or App it adds to the discussion about what you have read about for years.

And there is some thought whether Windows should be an OS or an Appliance.

Windows is very what you see is what you get, I want to use products/software that's specificly made by Microsoft(ie. office) for Windows, I was surprised to see that there's not much-and that's not a complaint. It's odd that I have a usb-cam that's made by Microsoft but no proprietary software to run it...

I assumed that calling it a USB-cam means the camera that sits on top of the moniter.Can you give me an example of a webcam made by Microsoft?(not Creative )
