My wireless connection just stopped working.

by Brennan_tucker - 12/10/09 9:24 AM

So at this point I am starting to get quite emotional over this ordeal.
Yesterday afternoon, my Internet that I receive on my desktop via wireless
just stopped working. This happens fairly often, and I reset the router and checked if
it was working, it was not. I checked my iPod, to see if it could connect and
run Internet from the wifi, and it could, can, as I am on It now. My laptop can also
connect and use the Internet. I am running vista premium, and I have never before run
into any problems. The thing is, that I can connect to another connection
from somewhere in the neighboorhood, and barely use the Internet from it,
it is just my main connection and only on MY computer that it won't work

I believe I have a dynex wireless receiver for my desktop, and I have gone so
far as to back everything up and do a system restore, and then when that didn't work
a full system wipe. I have done it in the past when my computer began to lose
it's functionality for all the crap on it, and the hardware continued working, so
I had every reason to believe that it would continue working.

So the conundrum stands: why is it that only this one connection, and only my
computer will not work? Is there a firewall issue that suddenly arose from nowhere?
Is it some sort of virus? What can I do?!
