WksWP.exe unidentified publisher

Something happened to my MS Works word processor. It works fine, but when I initiate it (click on wkswp.exe) i get the "unidentified publisher" box, and have to click on "ALLOW, I trust this program" to continue. I know MS is the publisher, but what happened to make th OS lose its I.D., and how can I get it back to normal? Spreadsheet, Database, Notepad, and Wordpad don't have the problem.

Uninstall that program. Then reinstall it.

Thanks for your response. As you probably know, WksWP.exe is part of MS Works, which was bundled with VISTA when I got my Dell.

Per your instructions, I uninstalled WORKS, then reinstalled it from the CD-ROM which came with the system, then downloaded the most recent update from MS Online. (That's not 100% true. MS came back with a message saying I already have the current version and did not download. So I am ASSUMING it's up to date.)
Anyway, I'm still stuck with the "unidentified publisher" message, etc. I can always continue to click "ALLOW ...". Or, I can run with Account Control off. Neither is convenient.

I still wonder how I lost the "publisher" I.D.

I'm not the best at re-writing this but in a nutshell as the patches come out the signing breaks and you get that UAC prompt.

You did nothing wrong. Ask Dell for a new CD that works?
