Windows Vista forum: The Print Shop 23

The Print Shop 23

I bought this program since version 20 to 22 were not Vista compatible. I installed the full program and when I double click the icon I get a small window with PMW on top, inside a yellow triangle with a ! sign and reads inside "Can't create the directory C\Users\CJ Negron\Appdata\Local\Broderbund Software\Print\The Print Shop\23.0" I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. I already submitted a question to the manufacturer, but haven't received any answer from them.

Why not create that directory and then try again?

Or a folder depending on your point of view.

Try this. Delete that folder and turn off UAC during install. We find it trips up a lot of installers.

Tried the UAC off and I reinstalled the program, but still getting the same message.

Try installing .Net first.

It should be on the cd/dvd. Read http://www.vistax64.com/software/203050-cant-install-printshop-23-vista-home-premium-64-bit.html

"Insert The Print Shop Install CD, in our CD/DVD Drive.
Right Click the Icon that represents the drive into which the disk was placed and click Open. The contents of the disc will be displayed. Double Click the
Setup folder. Double Click the 1033.dot.netfx.exe. The installation of Microsoft NET Framework 1.1 will begin. Review the License Agreement and click the 'dot' I Accept...then Click Next. Click to install the Microsoft .NET framework 1.1. When the installation of Microsoft .NET framework 1.1 is complete...a message appears on the screen...Click OK. Then Launch and use
Print Shop, or you may have to continue to install/reinstall Print Shop Deluxe.

I had the exact same problem with Printshop 23 when I upgraded to 64 bit Windows 7. I went on the disk and manually installed the net framework. It said there was a compatibility issue but I installed it anyway. Now Printshop works fine. Thanks for the tip!
