Local Connection only

Hello to everyone.

First of all, Im a newbie in this old world of technology [yeah,
shame on me sad ] A week ago I bought HP Pav DV3-2105ee laptop, now Im having problem connecting to the internet.
OK, we dont have internet connection at home [LAN, as I know they
called it] which means wireless router is not an option [or maybe an
option, is just that Im not aware]
Therefore, my only hope is to connect via [free] wireless network. By
week of attempts, I finally manage to connect into few wireless
network providers but my status is Local Connection Only.


I do not know what to do, please help me. Give me some option and
advise before I further damage my laptop. I know to some this is just
a stupidity but I do not care, I have to admit Im new and im learning.

And whatelse information regarding this i need to provide.
Please help

You have to call up the free wireless providers you are using and politely ask for instructions on setup to use their services. Some may require a proxy or other setting.

Supply a link to this service so members can review this and check your work.

If you at trying to tap into your neighbors WIFI then all bets are off. It's just like using their garden hose. You ask permission to use that.

So no free networks?

Sorry but I always try to give everyone the chance to tell what Free Wifi they are using. Some cities are doing this but we need to know the name of the system you are trying to attach to and it's web page.

Wireless hook ups

If you go to SOME places, Starbucks, Safeway (some motel parking lots)you can hook up IF it reads "unsecured network". Local access is locked with a password(secured)so just anyone can't hook up. Most secure their networks for security reasons, some do not and are potentially vulnerable to hackers creating issues.
