HP printers and Vista - apparent incompatability

Just a warning for anyone planning to run an HP printer with Vista, particularly the L7380 all-in-one and probably any L7000 series. After 2 weeks I've just returned mine and replaced it with a Canon.
For the 1st week the printer wouldn't work at all, until eventually after hours on the phone someone at HP found some spooler problems. The HP then worked, but no other printer driver did - including a Brother that had worked fine before, and a pdf printer. Also had limited options printing pdf files. I checked before buying the printer if it would work with Vista - no problems, it comes with a Vista install CD.
In comparison I've just plugged the Canon in, installed driver, and off it goes. No issues at all.

Just read the post 6/4 about Hp and Vista. I had a HP 7310 that never worked with vista and just broke. I am looking at the cannon Pixma 7600 -- wondering which canon lisamnz bought that worked so well with vista

Pixma iP4600. It was very easy to install and haven't had any problems with it at all yet - fingers crossed!
