New laptop - error 0x8007001B with Vista inst

Hi, I bought a new laptop, with completely clean Hard disk. I first installed Windows XP, but seeing as I need to manually download ALL the drivers, I decided to install Vista Ultimate x64, which is also able to fully use my hardware compared to 32-bit XP.
Problem occurred after "Expanding files". I would get following message:
"Windows cannot copy files from D:\Sources to C:\$WINDOWS.~LS\Sources. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007001B"
I tried formatting with WinXP setup (by ejecting CD after format procedure), but same problem happened at same stage of Vista installation. Next thing I could try is formatting with Vista, but I don't know how it's done.
Or, there is a different solution to this problem?
