Custom Resolution?

I just got a Toshiba Qosmio x300 for xmas and when I go to display settings, it doesn't seem to have an option for 1280x1024 resolution. The highest res available is 1400x900 but it doesn't look that great. Is there some way for me to force it to display at 1280x1024?

OS: Vista Home Premium
CPU: Intel Dual Core 2.0Ghz
GPU: Nvidia 9700M GT
RAM: 4Gb

"In the monitor tab window remove the tick mark from the 'hide modes that this monitor cannot display', then click Apply followed by OK"
