Hard Disk Says Full But It Isn't - Windows Vista - Need Help

I have an issue with my computer and its hard disk space. I am using an HP Pavillion laptop with Vista Home Premium. Certain programs I use cannot open at all or properly function due to an error saying my hard disk is full. When I check the drive, it has 67 GB of 105GB free, so I know that it is not full. I used an elevated command prompt and checked the shadow storage allocation, and it is at a low 3GB, so I know that is not the problem. I have cleared all temp files, and checked for any and all virus infections. None of these issues are the problem. I am at my wits end and could sure use some help.

Try a chkdsk: http://www.windows-help-central.com/windows-vista-chkdsk.html
It might very well help to remove some quirks in the file system.

Solution for your HDD problem - CHKDSK

chkdsk is a very good option. Even a fragmented pagefile might cause this problem as well.
