Windows Vista forum: cursor jumps typing jumps

Please elaborate on that. I ran across an issue when the owner didn't have to Office XP CD and they had some odd install method.

A few years ago on my old computer it just started happening Gateway XP. I thought it was a bug or something and I could not figure out how to fix it I just put up with it.
Now I transfered my documents over to my new computer HP Vista and it started doing it when I am writing an e-mail playing Solitaire or writing in Microsoft Word.

The new computer was fine until I installed my Microsoft Office 2002 from my original CD's. Then I transfered my Excel files over. So I am sure it's an Excel problem but don't know where to go for help. I get error when I open Excel and error when I close it. I just egnore that too.
I saw another person on this site had a similar problem but I couldn't find the solution to fix it.

If I remember correctly I bought it at Staples. It did not come with my computer.

Or whatever it's called asI do it all the time and it drives me crazy as I also have a gateway laptop but I have a 2007 w/Vista. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO TURN OFF THE SCROLLING MOUSE THING??? I guess it's a bit early for me, as I cannot tink of the name of whatever it is I call it the mouse pad but obviosusly don't have a mouse pad or mouse. Anyhoo, ugghhh anyone know how to turn it off or pause it per say while typing to avoid cursor jumping from me I guess being lazy and letting my hand lean on it??? Thanks

The answer is to install the free program TouchFreeze. Works with all Windows version and is very good at eliminating the cursor movement. Works by shutting off the touchpad while typing. Dangling fingers brushing the pad are the problem.
