So use something else, how difficult is that? With the runaway bloat factor and security concerns with Windows Media Player, now might be an excellent time to investigate alternatives. A couple that come to mind are iTunes and WinAmp.

I had the same problem.. after trying to find a solution on the internet I gave up.. All I found out is that people who have this problem simply uninstall windows media player then reinstall... I have vista which doesn't allow you to uninstall it..........................
I solved the problem by...
GOING TO TOOLS...
GOING TO OPTIONS...
GOING TO THE "RIP MUSIC" TAB...
CHANGING THE FORMAT TO "MP3"...
Wala!!!

...look to the upper left corner for "Tools".

By the way, Vista only has a 32 bit or 64 bit version. There is no 36 bit version that I'm aware of...

THanks I did all still window will not rip music from cd i used the error correction it rip but skip most of the tracks what else can i do .or I should just buy a music ripper software ?
