iPhone 3 Gs back up

Synced my iPhone 3gs with iTunes but that deleted all contacts on my phone. I have found what seems to be the back up of the contacts in Finder on my Mac, but can not open them to view them I just get a message saying, There is no application set to open the document "099EB3AA6D79F04E-6CED893471992BJS1.itc". Help needed asap!

Are you certain those aren't cover art files/images?

I suggest a more mac-centered forum to answer that one. I was under the impression the .itc files were cover art.

fairly certain, I guess I could be wrong.. I just plugged it in and it backed up and thats the only folder I can see that was 'edited' today so assumed that is it!
