Is this possible on an AT&T iPhone 5?

Hi I was wondering if swapping the contract SIM card from AT&T with a Prepaid 3G/4G/LTE GoPhone SIM card from AT&T on the iPhone 5 I do have a SIM Converter/Cutter to make the Prepaid SIM card into a NanoSIM. I haven't bought an iPhone 5 yet, but I do prefer prepaid rather than paying $100-$200 phone bill per month. I'm in college and don't have time to get a job at the moment so money is a issue on this, so I would like an iPhone 5 I have $500 to spend total for the phone. My goal is to get the iPhone 5 to a pay as you go phone, kinda like the AT&T gophones, I just want to know if this is possible to do. Thanks

Oh and I do not like spending too much money on a contract and please note I haven't bought the iPhone 5 yet.

You used to be able to do this by changing the APN

I honestly don't recall what the current situation is w/ the iPhone 5. You might visit Howardforums.com for the most up to date info regarding prepaid vs postpaid. Or, you could take a chance and follow the instructions on this site-

Buying a much cheaper Android handset on a different prepaid carrier might save you some money too wink
