why do adium and gtalk keeps dropping at erratic times ? I use mac air and this happens irrespective of wifi or lan environment

Are these download apps ?? Have you always had this issue or is this something that just started to happen? Are these on your Macbook air or on an iPhone, hard to determine from your description? Any recent changes to the device?

always had the issue on mac.
i use mac air 13" and the connection keeps dropping, it doesn't happen to any window machine, irrespective of wifi or ethernet connection.
