iPhones, iPods, and iPads forum: Problem with music

The sorting tags look to be in order. I even experimented, and removed all the tags in the right column, but the songs still don't sync correctly.

Not sure what you're saying. You know, all my music trouble began when I started using the cloud. It's insane.

I am not putting my stuff on the cloud. It's local so it just works fine. I hear a lot of troubles with the latest iTunes Match so I just don't use that.

It's like when a new software rolls out, say 11.0. I wait till 11.1.

One could say this is some old fuddy duddy thinking but if you've been on this ride for long you know to skip the beta runs.

I agree with you about the cloud. My thought was that it would be an easy security blanket for me. Here's what I discovered, and how it happened:

1. I used Tune-Up to clean up my library after all my cloud issues.
2. Tune-Up is a good program and easy to use, but I find that after artist and title, the information they match could be iffy.
3. Many of the album/artist info is wrong. As a former radio guy, I have a lot of singles that were dubbed from special releases.
4. Without releasing it, my phone was set to group by album artist. Because a lot of the info was incorrect, it caused my phone to list the songs incorrectly.
5. Turned off album artist feature, and re-sync'ed, and all is fixed.

This proves one thing, old guys like us should fiddle with settings!!!!

You are right. icloud is a mess. I spent 35 minutes on the phone with an Apple tech trying to back up my iphone contacts and even he could not figure it out. I will not buy an iphone again because everything has to be done Apple's way and when that doesn't work you are out of luck. My previous cell phones from Verizon all were able to use Verizon's own automatic backup with no imput from me and without any problems.

Millions of iPhone users out there, backing up their iPhones to the Cloud and if, as you imply, they all have this problem, why don't we hear about it.

Didn't you have to do it Verizon's way when you had a phone from Verizon?

A great deal of those 'millions of users' are too naive to know how to actually *check* the integrity of their data being backed up to the iCloud, and even more relevant, they don't care about anything past the first free 5GB anyway.

That said, yes, iCloud does have some issues if you peruse the forums.
