iPhones, iPods, and iPads forum: iPhone 4S now?; iPhone 5 later?

How long are you willing to wait for the NEXT iPhone/iPad? It will never be the latest and greatest, but it will not obsolete the previous models. I just got my iPhone 4S and I am happy I did. I tend to live for the here and now and NOT the future.

If you're not starting to be infidel to your iPad 2 now the New Ipad has arrived (will be in the shops Friday), there's a reasonable chance that you feelings for four iPhone 4S might stay positive when (I mean: if) the next model arrives later this year.

I agree with the two posters here; go ahead and buy the 4S. I have one, and I don't regret buying it...I do feel for you on the screen size you are giving up. I think the clarity of the 4s screen versus the phone you have now, however, will make the transition easier. The iphone definitely has the clearer screen....

I signed a THREE year contract (the norm in Canada) for a Blackberry Storm. About a month after I got it, they brought out a wifi version. It had so little memory that watching anything but a .pdf was impossible. It has been the LONGEST three years of my life. I've migrated to a MacBook Pro (from Dell PC) and LOVE my basic wifi/3G iPad (original) and will now wait until the latest and greatest iPhone 5 comes out this summer (i think my contract is up in April). At least I will have the confidence that Apple won't bring out something new in a month!

I decided to wait for a little longer cause my VZN contract comes up next month, so i will wait till the projected offerign date of Sept. for the I~phone 5. I figure i have waited this long so why not? But another solution for someone else in this delemia might be to buy a used Iphone4S (there are loads of them on Craigslist) and when the new Iphone5 comes out just sell the old one on Craigslist again. Judging from the prices people ask for them i don't think you would lose that much money making the change if you take care of the phone

if you ask us whether we are satisfied with our current device, of course the answer is going to be no.
It's human nature to keep wanting something more than we have. If you have the patience to wait for the iPhone 5 with the unknown release date, by all means. But if you're in need of a phone right now, just get the iPhone 4S and maybe upgrade to iPhone 5S in two years.

I'm still using the iPhone 3Gs and I'm still very happy with it, so I'm not suffering. The 4s wasn't quite enough for me to migrate too, though I'd love to have a better camera and Siri. Since my current iPhone still works quite well, still supports the latest iOS, and my birthday is in October (about when iPhone 5 is predicted to arrive), I'll wait a bit longer. Hopefully it is worth the wait.

Hi, jooney! I think you should wait. There are more and more rumors that iPhone 5 will be released this autumn. If you wait, you can have two benefits. One, the iPhone 4S price will get down. Second, you have two choices to pick. Also there will be many related softwares available. I am also waiting now.

It depends on your budget and preferences too that which one you should buy, otherwise without any doubt future iphone5 has astonishing look as compare to iphone 4s but i must say i am using iphone 4s I found this set is the most satisfied set I have used yet.
