iPhone backups location - Recovering deleted data

iPhone backups are located as follows
Mac --> Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
PC --> c:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

I have a Hp Pavilion dv7-3065dx laptop with windows7 and "I" just did the same thing.. The only difference is... my laptop doesn't have a "Documents and Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" option as you mentioned above. I can't seem to find itunes backup file anywhere.. it's so frustrating that you have to constantly sit and watch every move itunes makes while sync's... EEeerr!!! I lost over 200 contacts!! Please help!

Have found Backup folder but can't import

Thanks for this. However, when I try to add the folder to my Address book it says 'No cards found' - 'No importable cards were found.'
Is there a way for me to convert the information contained in the Backup folder to v-cards and then iport them or is there another way?

I may not be able to help with your current problem, but I can definitely help prevent it from occuring in the future.

If you don't have a gmail account, sign up for one. Then put all your contacts into your gmail. Google sync allows you to have your calendar, contacts, and email all sync to your phone. Google is one of the most reliable companies on earth and your contacts will be stored with them. I buy a new iPhone every time it is updated and all I do is enter my info into the phone and everything is populated for me.

Beyond that, if you like using a calendar, your gmail calendar and your phone calendar sync. If you add, change, or remove an event on one it does the same thing on the other. This will un-complicate your life.

Lost iPhone4S and how to find its backup for iPad.

I keep loosing my iPhones. Before the latest incident (4S) I backed up everything on my MacBookPro (OSX 10.6.8). Now I'm short of money and won't be able to get a new iPhone. I'd be glad just to recover the contacts - on my iPad2 (or a Nokia E7). Could anyone tell if I can dig out the contacts from somewhere inside MacBook Pro? Or do I need an iPhone to get the data back? Thank you.
