ipod touch when connected to wi-fi can't check gmail/ymail

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my router's firewall (Motorola sbg900), I can connect to safari, youtube, weather, stocks, maps, via wi-fi on my ipod touch but when it comes to checking mail it won't connect. I know for sure it is the firewall, and even contacted motorola they told me that I would need to fill in this section in the firewall:

Port ID: ExamplePort
Enable: Checked
Allowed Protocol: TCP
Port Range: 80 : 80
Protocol Number: 0
Allow Inbound: Checked
Allow Outbound: Checked

is this what I need to fill out to tell the firewall to allow inbound and outbound connections through my ipod touch?

BTW the "port range" was just an example, I'm wondering where I would get this number? and when it came to the protocol choices which would I choose "TCP" "UDP" or "UDP/TCP"
