Nothing IS like the iPhone

I have only had my iPhone for a few months and I love it. I was debating changing carriers. I've had good service, not great, from Sprint (for 8 years) with a smart phone (latest - a nice Samsung) but I found myself using it more and more for extra things, Web, texting. (I used to carry a separate iPod because Sprint's / Samsungs music service arrangment was a ripoff - my one complaint with Sprint.) The iPhone I bought is the old 3G, refurbished for $99, not the 3GS (found the deal at Apple on-line before the 3GS came out). The computer connection is so seamless. I love the many additional applications available on the iPhone. That was the clincher for me, books and crosswords are my thing. The cost for the full service package at ATT was only $20 a month over Sprint's full service for individual plan, not family. (maybe different costs for 3G vs 3GS service?) ATT information is easier to deal with than Sprint with the old Samsung phone, things like 411, map service. So I can't exactly compare the iPhone and ATT to the Eternity and Sprint. I'm in the Tampa Bay area and get good coverage - never a problem. The iPhone is trouble free so far. And I hear the local Apple/Mac store is great for customer service if I need it. Unlike many others the iPhone hasn't replaced my laptop. I'm still thinking of getting a NetBook for Internet browsing on the go - for those sites that don't have a mobile version.
