Setting up Netflix issues

I am so confused with programs that go through the internet to the television. For example, I would like to get Netflix. Do I need a Wii to utilize it? Do I need a television with internet capabilities? Do I need to run it through my lap top or a special box? UGH, I think you get the idea.....

Any help would be much appreciated!

What you listed are the many solutions. I'm guessing that having so much choice is the problem and not that there is not a lot of choices.

Try this. What do you have now? See if that will give you Netflix.

I have DSL connected to a desktop computer in our home with a linksy's wireless connection for a lap top. The DSL connection is in a separate room (at the other end of the house) from the television I would connect the Netflix to. The television we have does not have internet capabilities however, is connected through Dish Satellite. If I got a streamer would it connect wireless through my linksy's? Or is there a better solution.....I really dont want a Wii or Play Station....UGH again....

Thank you so much....if I do my homework hopefully it will be done right!

While I use a laptop for such play, I see you are not enamored of such use.

Thank you! I think this is probably the best way to go. My lap top is slow and I think the box will be a better choice. Now that you have given me the thread to compare these boxes and learn a bit more about them I feel I am on the road to Netflix! Your help has been invaluable to me. I love technology but at my age and the fact that new technology is growing so quickly it is imperative to have knowledgable advice/help and you have provided that.....as my kids say "YOU ROCK" happy I just LOVE CNET
