Why does Cnet offer the download of ilivid?

Perhaps I've misunderstood the purpose of Cnet, but I have regarded it as a trusted site whenever I'm not sure if something is safe to download, etc. I'm rather tech-impaired and therefore I have to be extra careful and thus I often have questions. But I'm often afraid that some sites that offer advice might be just as bad as the unsafe sites I'm trying to protect myself from. Whenever I see the answer to a question I google from Cnet, then I click on it. However, I just noticed that Cnet offers downloads of ilivid--which is, by many, many accounts extremely malicious and unsafe. So, now my confidence in Cnet is shaken--can I have a good explanation why Cnet would support ilivid? Please restore my confidence!
