Firefox Multiple tabs on Download Nitro

Twice I have gotten an email notice from CNET that the Nitro PDF reader has an update. When I click on the download it sends me to the CNET website and when I clicked on the download button, Mozilla begins opening multiple window tabs. I can't get it to stop and when I close the Mozilla window it automatically opens back up and opening multiple tabs. The only way to get it to stop is to shut down my computer.
Any suggestions?

This has happened to me 2 or 3 times.
I get a notice from CNET that a new version of Nitro Reader is available.
When I go to the CNET website and click the download button is when the multiple tabs begin opening.
One time I clicked on Smart install
The Last time I clicked on the CNET secure install.
I have not noticed this occurring with anything other than the Nitro Reader.
