I'm pretty computer saavy but not always graphic/visual savvy.
I need a pretty basic video editing program to put together a music video we shot on Sunday...we did two takes playing along to the demo so I just need to line the vids up with the mp3, then intercut the close up shots with the 'master' shot. Seems simple but the current editor I'm using (Videopad) seems to want to place one video after another end to end into a giant horizontal "sandwich"...which I can't do without screwing up the timing!
I'm willing to spend a little money (less than $100) if there's a simple useable interface!

HOWEVER even with the one you have what stops you from clipping the video clips to the right size so one after another you get the right sandwich?
All video editors I've used allow me to clip a bit off the beginning or end of a clip then save that clip. I can add the saved edited clip back in and work around the limitation.

I have two full 3-minute continuous videos, it's not a series of shots. They need to be perfectly timed to the music, which I was able to do with Videopad with the 'main' static shot. But it appears I can't slide video #2 right underneath it, match it to the mp3 track, and create an entirely new video inserting whatever shots i need onto the master.
I can do this just fine with audio files and Audacity, I just find it hard to do with the interface at hand.
But you could clip the end and beginning of the clips

And get them to line up. I guess that such work is asking too much of folk today. Good hunting on a sub 100 buck editor.
