Ok,

I have found a way to do this, although I am not comfortable with how to do it. I found a program/plugin called "samurize equalizer", although my Norton Internet Security shows that www.samurize.com has 2 computer threats. If I can, I'd like to avoid going to this site, for lack of confidence of legitimacy and safety of the site. I was just wondering if someone knew of or could find an alternative to this. For further info, I am running Windows 8, 6GB RAM, Core i5 3rd Gen, Nvidia GeForce 610M (2GB Graphics Card). In terms of hardware, I am not too knowledgeable, so don't hate for my salesman-like description of my computer specs.

Of course, I will be searching for an alternative to samurize, although it would be highly appreciated if I could get a little bit of extra searching power

Samurize is VERY buggy on Windows 8

Hi all,

I took the punt and went an installed Samurize, and got the plugin that allows me to see the spectrum analyzer, but it was so buggy I uninstalled soon after. I am still very interested for one that works well with W8, so keep on the lookout please xD

Hi,

I suppose you could try something called mmix.me which has a real-time spectrum analyzer. It has facebook and youtube pages so you can see what it's like. You can put it in "windowed fullscreen" which could work as a "back-drop" for you.

Forgot to say..

MMiX.Me is actually a music/streaming player in itself. It has a spectrum analyzer built-in, that is real-time and in "3D", which I assume is what you are looking for : )
