Driver updating (SIS)

New here, need some help please! I am running an Acer aspire 5000 from like 05' I guess. Anyways, I am attempting to play a game on this old PC since the game is not mac compatible. I need to update my driver, so I went to the driver manufacturers website. It is a SIS m760gx chip, and I made sure what I downloaded from them supported this particular chip. The download went into winzip, and I read the readme.txt. It stated that in order to install, double click the setup.exe. I find the setupexe. , it gives a message that it could be an unsafe file, and I selected to open it anyways, then nothing. An hourglass for a second and then nothing takes place. What do i do? I have been messing with this for 2 weeks now. Are there any other quick fixes to this? Could I just download windows 7 or 8 and that would give me an updated driver? or does anyone have a good driver update website? Or should I uninstall winzip and see where the download takes me? That is the only idea I have left other than downloading a new windows.
