any video converter - free version

so i have this old DVD - commercial.
and i would like to make a back up.
whatever i convert it to in AVC, nothing else will play the file.
i also get an AVC pop up saying there will be no sound.
what am i doing wrong?
i have pinnacle studio 12 to make a dvd of the files.

For a backup you don't need to convert it. Just run your favorite burning program (like Nero or CDBURNERXP) and choose 'Copy DVD'. Much better.

Maybe you can use other program of Any Video Converter, like Any DVD Ripper. With it you can backup the commercial DVD
