New VLC 2.0 Crashes My Computer

Windows XP Pro. All previous versions of VLC worked fine, but the new VLC 2.0 crashes my computer when I click to play a video after the computer has been on STANDBY. After I reboot, the VLC works fine. What's up with that? Thanks.
