Evening. Windows Media Player on my mobile no longer plays any sound. Does anyone know:
A) what the problem is?
B) How to fix it?

The audio is encoded in something WMM can't use.
Too bad the other details such as what phone or version of WM is missing here.

My phone is a HTC touch diamond 2, and i don't know which version of WMM it is. But the files aren't the problem because they were playing fine until recently.

It's one of the more annoying ones to trouble shoot.
--> You didn't tell if other things play. If other things play and the phone is essentially remote controlled it is possible for the cellco to kill playback of some content encoded in such ways.
If other things play, encode your content in codecs that work.

Your reply while adding more didn't give me the clues I was looking for. If nothing plays, try this.
Do the usual sync so all your stuff is safe then reset the phone and try a PLAIN file. NOTHING from the internet and something that came with the phone or made with the phone's camera. If that fails you can ask the provider to fix it.
