audio output equalizer software?

I'm looking for software that will adjust the audio output of my son's HP PC running Win XP Pro, SP 3, as an equalizer would. I have that (Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager) on my eMachines PC but I can't find anything at Realtek for his PC. I think what I have may be bundled on certain PCs only. All we really want is an output equalizer. Any help would be appreciated.

You can use Parametric Equalizer Pro is a useful and professional stand-alone parametric equalizer which allows the shaping of the timbre of a sound by boosting or attenuating its frequency components. http://www.anwida.com/progs/pareq30.exe

Posting direct links to executable file downloads is normally resisted in these forums. We can never be quite sure what the .exe file is, and what it is going to do.

I've checked http://www.anwida.com and that direct link to a .exe seems OK, but we prefer links to web pages, not direct downloads.
