Connected HDMI cable to PS3 there is sound but no picture...

I have just bought a 40inch Samsung Plasma TV i have also got a PS3 i changed the settings on the PS3 to 1080p the same as my TV, no i cannot get into my ps3 there is sound but no picture, even when my hdmi cable is plugged in help what do i do

PS3 video reset

Just push and hold the power button on the PS3 for about 10 seconds. You will hear it beep a few times and this resets the video audio. Then you can set it all up.

My son was messing with my ps and after that only audio comes up. I thought, there goes my ps3. After doing this, everything is working happy.

After searching I found 2 solutions before this
1.) HDMI cable is shot
2.) HDD is fried

This post saved me hundreds!!
