File Converter Program

Does anyone know of a FREE program I can download to convert files like FLV and AVI to MVW format that will play in Windows media player.

I've download a few programs, but after I get through installing, then trying to convert a file..it wants to charge me a subscription fee.

Thanks, any help is appreciated!

MVW is MSFT's so while I use SUPER VIDEO CONVERTER to do most conversions you gotta wonder why not convert it to what WMP can play rather than MVW?

Sorry but I hope someone can supply what you asked for.
