any good/free screen recorders

I'm looking for a screen recorder that is free, but records as seamlessly as possible without hogging system resources.

Windows XP Home Edition SP3
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ 2.41 GHz
2GB RAM
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1550 Series 512MB
Biostar GeForce6100-M9

I see one issue.

That video card is likely to be why you want something else other than the usuals. I swapped out my similar model ATI back to Nvidia due to issues I won't reveal today. I'm going to note one other than the usual and leave it at that.
