A problem with Free Sound Recorder

Hi
I downloaded "Free Sound Recorder" through CNET. When I tried to run it, a message appeared that reads : Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000. What does this mean? What should I do to run the program?
My OS: Win Xp pro +Sp2, I install the program on a partition that has 14.7 GB free space.

Hi Proffitt,
Thanks for your reply. I used Audacity one day but I understood from its help that it does not a recorder but editor. I undersood also that it does not support PM3. Was I wrong?

I use it for MP3 and Wave files. My installs all record too.

-> Remember that I don't duplicate easy to find answers. You may not know the titles so I'll share that and leave it to you to do the work.

Free Sound Recorder can't get help

I'm getting the same message. I've been trying for days to make this software work.
One thing you can be certain of is this. You will not get any help from the people who develop this garbage. Don't bother to email them because they WILL NOT REPLY. They list a fax number but it doesn't work.

I'll have to keep using Freecorder, which has it's problems as well.

My bet is they are no more. Unless you can monetize the free apps, you have to close up shop.

The versions are updated regularly. Unfortunately the updates are sometimes worse than the previous edition

Without a revenue stream, they have to cut back on support staff, fax lines and more.

So rather than close up shop, they may have to reduce their size.

At least there are alternatives.
