Slideshow Software for Creating Videos (Youtube)

Hey everyone, I was wondering what is the best slideshow software available within reason? Meaning, below $150.00. I have Adobe PS Elements 6.0 that I use now, and my work looks great, I get plenty of hits and good ratings, but I want to take my video or slideshow production to the next level. Anyone have any suggestions? What is actually the best slideshow/video producing software for an intermediate producer of youtube, google, and yahoo video shows?
I like to add music, and different images and transitions and graphics, but Adobe PS 6.0 only has so much you can do and stuff. I tried the Premiere Elements 4.0 and did NOT like that at all, and also it made my PC go crazy, its such a huge program.
I know Picasa has slideshow capabilities, and so does Irfanview, but they too basic for me, I am looking for more advanced software within reason meaning price range of no more than $150.00 for sure. Can anyone tell me even if it is over the price I mentioned; What is actually the best software for slideshows? I have looked online and got no where. I found alot of different ones, but they were all pretty much no better than Adobe. I seen the Proshow Gold, and Producer, but is that the best, or is their better?
Please help me out someone, I have been producing my own videos, usually about 3 1/2 to 8 minutes long. One or Two songs, and then about 70 or 80 images, but I need more features, more things to spice it up ya know. All of my slideshows now are starting to look the same to me ya know. I made 36 now in 4 months.
If anyone has an opinion, or advice, please offer it to me. Thank You Very Much, and Take Care.
