As we know from previous experience, upgrading a previous-generation PC to a new version of Windows is not necessarily a carefree experience. Plus, many such "older" machines wouldn't be able to use the new Windows 8 touchscreen capability. Perhaps those two factors would make the older PCs seem obsolete in the minds of many.
At any rate, I'd like to get my hands on a new, cheap PC, wipe Windows 7 off the hard drive, and install a Linux distro to replace it. (Yes, I know that Windows 7 and Linux can coexist on the same HD--no thanks.)
